The Countdown to Convention
January 2004 – AQHA’s 2004 Convention is right around the corner. Don’t miss your chance to have a voice in potential changes in your Association. The March 5-9 event will address important industry issues and is filled with awards ceremonies and must-attend social happenings that will take place in Reno, Nevada, at John Ascuaga’s Nugget.
“Many issues facing our industry will be addressed at this year’s Convention,” said AQHA Executive Vice President Bill Brewer. “Every AQHA member has a voice in how those issues are addressed, and we invite all members to contribute.”
Hotel accommodations include a special AQHA Convention rate of $95 single/double occupancy if reservations are made by February 11. Any reservations made after the deadline will be on a space-available basis only. Call (800) 648-1177 to make your reservations.
Pre-register by January 31 to receive special discounted ticket prices on Convention events. You must register for the Convention to secure a name badge for admittance to committee meetings, general membership meetings, social events and continental breakfasts. A name badge will be issued to anyone who purchases at least one event ticket. Otherwise, a $25 fee must be paid. Register online or download the mail-in registration form by clicking here. View the convention agenda here.
Take part in special events including the Convention Golf Tournament on March 5 at the Red Hawk Golf Club. Featuring lush fairways and manicured bent grass greens, Red Hawk is home to a dramatic scenic backdrop with 18 holes and two distinctive nines.
You can’t spend time in Reno, Nevada, and not take part in a game of blackjack. Friday night’s social event is a blackjack tournament with prize money totaling $4,000. Held at John Ascuaga’s Nugget Casino, entry fees are $75 per person and there is limited space. Be sure to reserve your seat at the table by registering online today. All entry fees will be donated to the Youth Scholarship Fund of the American Quarter Horse Foundation.
In addition to golfing and gaming, a plethora of shopping venues, museums and ski resorts can be found close by.
