USEA Insurance Programs Updates for Competition and Clinic Organizers

US Eventing Association

The USEA made some significant changes to the liability insurance programs offered to organizers of competitions and educational activities for 2005. These changes have increased the level of coverage, and allowed the program to expand to new organizers.

All USEA liability policies for competitions and clinics are now handled by Equisure, Inc. Equisure specializes in equestrian association liability programs, and counts the U.S. Equestrian Federation, U.S. Pony Club, and International Arabian Horse Association among its clients.

The coverages under the Equisure policies are quite similar to those the association has purchased in the past, with some improvements, including higher limits of coverage.

Nothing has changed with regard to the process of having a competition recognized or an educational activity registered with the USEA, which entitles the organizer to coverage under those master policies. Organizers of USEA recognized competitions and clinics can contact Equisure with questions on coverages and requests for certificates of insurance at (800) 752-2472, (303) 614-6967 fax, or 3003 S. Jamaica Court, Suite 210, Aurora, Colorado 80014, or visit them on the web at www.equisure-inc.com.

Note to USEA Registered Clinics Organizers In the past, organizers of USEA registered clinics and educational activities were required to collect a non-member fee from participants who were not USEA members. For 2005 this fee no longer applies, and all reference to it has been dropped from the Organizers' Application to host an Educational Activity, as well as the Release Form to be signed by participants. These updated forms can be found on the USEA website, www.useventing.com. Click on Education, then Forms or at http://www.useventing.com/competitions/forms.htm .

USEA Official Equine Insurance Provider Broadstone Equine Insurance Agency continues to serve as the USEA's Official Equine Insurance Provider. Members interested in insuring their horses, businesses, or farms can contact Broadstone at (888) 687-8555, info@BroadstoneEquine.com, or visit www.BroadstoneEquine.com.
