For the countless times you have wondered, “Do they make that in kids’ sizes?”, the answer is now, yes! Outback Trading Company introduces its first ever Kid’s Collection, available September 2005, so that boys and girls can look just like Mom and Dad or older siblings in their favorite Outback gear. Every piece in the collection is sized from XS (4) to XL (12/14).

“Our idea was to make a line of clothes for kids that mimicked our grown-up collection,” said Wilson King, President of Outback Trading Company. “We knew it had to be durable yet “cool” so kids would actually want to put on their coats without being reminded. And we made moms happy too, because most are waterproof and machine washable!”

Every child wants to be a cowboy, and now they can look the part in the Kid’s Kangaroo Coat—a smaller version of Outback’s legendary Australian Oilskin Duster. Waterproof and ready for life on the range, or the playground, with a traditional cape, snap front plus storm flap, adjustable cuffs and rear saddle gussets. The Outback logo on the snaps let you know it is the best available.

For the young lady equestrian, Outback introduces the Girl’s Gold Cup Jacket. Specifically tailored for young riders, the kid’s version features a two way zipper under a storm panel, a lockable drawcord waist and snap open back vents. Girls will also love the Down-Filled Jacket. This pint-sized version of the ladies’ jacket comes in microsuede with a snap open back vent and a stand up collar. Both fashionable and functional, these jackets come in several of the same colors as the adult styles and are decorated with pretty ponies’ embroidery.

Kids (and maybe even some moms, dads and grandparents) will stampede right over to the rack where Outback’s equestrian motif fleece is corralled. The Horse Dreams fleece will leave kids’ dreaming of perfect ponies on starlit rides while the Boots and Hat fleece will have them two-steppin’ down the barn aisles. Both versions zip up to the neck and have elastic bottoms and cuffs to keep out the cold. Side pockets are real handwarmers!

Outback also offers western-inspired hats to fit smaller heads. The Snowy Creek Hat adds some Down Under styling, while the Aussie Star Hat has a great western style perfect for junior wranglers and barrel racers. Both are made of crushable, water-repellant wool and come in classic colors and youth sizes.

“The great thing about this collection is its versatility,” said King. “There is a jacket for every kid, whether a junior rodeo rider or a pony hunter champion, they can wear these coats to the barn, in the ring and arena or around the school yard.”
