Stories Wanted for Chicken Soup for the Soul of Women Who Love Horses

The authors of the New York Times best-selling book series, Chicken Soup for the Soul are conducting a story call for material to include in: Chicken Soup for the Soul of Women Who Love Horses Jack Canfield, Mark Victor Hansen, Marty & Teresa Becker, Peter Vegso and Theresa Peluso (Health Communications, April 2006)

Do you have a heart-warming, insightful, humorous or moving story about a woman's experience with horses? All submissions are welcome. If needed, editorial staff will work with contributors in developing their story. If you enjoy writing, love horses, and have an interesting story to tell, your participation is welcome. Chapters include: A Special Bond, Horses as Teachers, Just Horsin' Around, Horses as Healers, On Companionship and Commitment, Horse...cetera.

Preface story with: name, address, phone, fax and email contact information and a bio of 50 words maximum.

Story Length: 500-1800 words Non-fiction. Previously published material is accepted. Provide details on where the story has been published with submission.

Deadline: September 30, 2005. Writers whose stories are being considered for publication will be contacted by December 31, 2005.

Compensation: Writers of stories accepted for final publication will receive their choice of $200 or sixteen (16) complimentary copies of the book (a $207 retail value), per story published. Contributors of published poems will be paid $50 upon publication. Rights Assigned: Non-exclusive (you control the rights and your story can be reprinted in other publications), world-wide, all languages. If you are not the copyright holder or you do not control the rights, please provide that information with your submission so we may contact the proper parties for permission to use the material.

A Chicken Soup story is an inspirational, sometimes emotional, often humorous true story that opens the heart and re-kindles the spirit. It is the personal account of an event, a relationship, a lesson learned or a dream fulfilled that helps a reader discover basic principles they can use in their own lives.
