Ariat Introduces Weather-Inspired Products To Maximize Comfort and Style In Any Kind of Weather Ariat
Will Rogers once said if a person didn’t like weather in Texas, wait five minutes…because it would change. Any more, that same sentiment can be applied nationwide. Whether it’s global warming, or just a series of strange meteorological phenomena, weather continues to steal headlines with its unpredictability, and the havoc it’s wreaking across the country.
Ariat International believes when it comes to inclement weather and its potential to ruin outdoor activities, people should put their foot down. And thanks to the company’s new waterproof and climate-control footwear, they can do so in comfort and in style.
Waterproof
With spring showers on the horizon, Ariat’s newest weatherproof products will prove a welcome addition to any wardrobe. Making its debut in four different color ways is Ariat’s Frog Clog (shown in red), a completely waterproof leather clog for women featuring a pull-out footbed ideal for hosing out the clog after a romp in the mud. This fun, fashionable silhouette – featuring a brightly colored vamp outlined with silver piping – works as easily downtown as it is does in the paddocks, and with seam-sealed construction, gives wearers something to smile about on the rainiest of days. And with Ariat’s patented ATS technology, featuring a gel-cushioned forefoot and heel strike zone, the Frog Clog gives wearers the same stability and comfort they have grown to love in many of Ariat’s other English styles including the field and paddock boots.
Ariat’s Terrain H20 is an updated version of the Ariat Terrain, an ankle boot in the company’s English product line that can serve double-duty as a hiking boot. Constructed from full-grain, waterproof leather with a Duratread outsole, the Terrain H20 has been updated with a waterproof, breathable membrane (replacing the former seam-sealed
construction) as well as moisture-wicking lining to keep feet dry no matter the conditions. The stylish navy or copper boot is available in men’s and women’s sizes and is ideal for people working outside, as well as for paddock wear. The Terrain H20 is currently available to Ariat’s international market , with U.S. distribution slated for Fall.
Climate Control
Ariat’s taken another important step in making its boots as wearer-friendly as possible by incorporating Gore-Tex booties into many of its products for Spring 2006. The Glacier Tall Boot, Glacier Zip and the Glacier Lace, Ariat’s waterproof, full-grain leather English boots, now feature the Gore-Tex bootie enhanced with Primaloft insulation as well as Dri-lex plaid lining, a system that works to keep wearers feet warm and dry in the most brutal outdoor conditions. Other Ariat products featuring the Gore-Tex bootie include the Ariat Grassmere, a waterproof, full-grain English boot available to Ariat’s international market in leather or suede, and in Ariat’s Work line, the Ariat Rivet GTX 8”, a waterproof, premium leather work boot featuring a PU midsole, Duratread outsole and available with a steel or traditional toe.
“Combining waterproof leathers with the Gore-Tex booties allows us to provide our customers with footwear that offers unparalleled durability, exceptional breathability and warm, waterproof protection against the elements,” says Beth Cross, Ariat’s founder and president. “Our customers spend as much time on the ground as they do in the saddle, so it made sense for us to develop products that will enhance their comfort, stamina and performance out of the stirrup, no matter what weather conditions they face.”
