With a little creativity and the consent of your fun-loving horse or pony, you could win $1,000 at the seventh annual Halloween with Horses costume contest at the Colorado Horse Park on October 21. Riders and horses of all ages are welcome for this fun event held during the family fall festival.
The Batmobile. A dragon. An elephant. These are just a few of the creative costumes from years past at Halloween with Horses. This year judges will be looking for the costumed horse and rider than show the most originality and flair. The grand prize is $1,000.
The top placings from each age category (12 and under, 13-21 and 21 and over) also receive cold hard cash for their efforts. First place in each category is awarded $100; second place earns $75; and third place receives $50. Entry fee is $40 for pre-entry or $50 after October 14.
Halloween with Horses fall festival is fun for the whole family, including a safe trick or treat barn, pony and horse rides, face-painting, storytelling, straw maze Presented by Murdoch’s, a pumpkin patch, horse entertainment, food and shopping. Children under one are free. For those over one the cost is $7 for all events. Parking is free. The Halloween with Horses fall festival runs from 10:00-6:00 on Saturday, October 21.
