John Lyons Teams Up With Equestrian Services, LLC to Introduce Signature Branded Equestrian Facilities

Equestrian News

Equestrian Services, LLC, the provider of turn-key equestrian amenities for communities and resorts throughout the United States, announces its partnership with internationally- recognized John Lyons, "America's Most Trusted Horseman," to offer a uniquely branded equestrian community to real estate developers.

The John Lyons Signature Equestrian Facility will be modeled on successful golf industry branding and management concepts. Similar to communities that boast an Arnold Palmer or Jack Nicklaus golf course, Equestrian Services now offers developers the opportunity to develop an equestrian community under a signature equestrian facility brand that is associated with world-renowned equestrian experts.

"As the real estate market slows across the country, real estate developers are looking for ways to differentiate their properties. Developers have begun to recognize that the equestrian market is significantly under realized and offers a new opportunity," said Michael Donovan, Principal, Equestrian Services, LLC. "We are proud to work with John Lyons on developing the world's first Western equestrian branded communities."

"I'm thrilled to collaborate with Equestrian Services and provide an opportunity to motivate and provide guidance to riders on how to become partners with their horses," said John Lyons. "Our facilities will follow the highest standards, which will bring a level of excellence and quality to horse owners and horse lovers."

For more than 25 years, John Lyons has inspired and taught people how to work with and strengthen their relationship with their horses. After a successful show career and gaining practical horse knowledge on his Colorado cattle ranch, John began giving training clinics and symposiums two decades ago, which blossomed into world-renowned status. Lyons has won numerous awards and accolades, including Equine Affaire's first and only Exceptional Equestrian Educator Award, Equitana USA's Modern Masters Award for Outstanding Horsemanship, and the University of Louisville's John W. Galbreath Award for his outstanding contributions to the horse industry.

In addition to the partnership with John Lyons, Equestrian Services also has partnered with equestrian Olympians Karen and David O'Connor, international English horseback riding champions.

Equestrian Services blue-ribbon selection panel evaluates whether or not a site meets the criteria of a market-exclusive John Lyons or O'Connor Signature Equestrian Facility. The evaluation is based on:

* Size, beauty and topography of the property;
* Site location;
* Quality of the community or resort development plan; and
* Track record of the developer.

"Another unique feature of a Signature-branded community is that the Lyons and the O'Connors will be involved in the design of the equestrian facilities as well as the on-going management, training and instruction," added Donovan. "They will be on hand for the grand opening as well as lead annual instructional clinics onsite. Horse enthusiasts will enjoy quality equestrian facilities and amenities in their backyards designed by these world-class horse experts, and homeowners in these communities will have the privilege to meet and learn from John Lyons and the O'Connors directly."

Nearly two million people own the 9.2 million horses in the United States, with another two million people involved as equestrian volunteers or engaged in the equestrian lifestyle through family affiliation, according to the American Horse Council Foundation (AHCF). In fact, horseback riding is among the five fastest growing sports in the U.S.

Equestrian Services' Lyons and O'Connor Signature Equestrian Facilities are currently being considered in Virginia, California and Florida. The first O'Connor Signature Brand will be featured at The Oaks, a 1,220 acre site in Lake City, Fla., and will showcase a cross country course designed by David O'Connor. This facility is due to open summer 2007.
