Horse Health Products

Equatic Solutions announces the release of a new product, Horse Quencher™, designed to encourage your horse to drink water. Although we all joke about the old adage 'you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink,' dehydration is no laughing matter.

With the stress of trailering and competition, quite often horses won't drink enough, which can lead to enormous health problems such as colic and tying up, or can simply cause a competitive horse to perform less brilliantly. Thus, Horse Quencher is a must whenever you travel with your horse... for relocation, for trail rides, for shows and events. It also comes in handy to have around the barn any time you feel a horse is drinking less than he or she should.

Not an electrolyte solution, nor the horsey equivalent of soda pop, Horse Quencher is a new approach using palatable, all-natural ingredients and flavorings with one goal in mind: to get a horse to drink water when you want him to.

Anne Kusmich, one of the founders of Horse Quencher and an avid trail rider, said, "I started out just trying to get my fussy mare Jewel to stay hydrated so I could trail ride her while she was pregnant. I tried all the usual ways to get her to drink, to no avail. But I knew I had to do something for her health and that of the foal she carried." Anne began to experiment with various feeds, supplements and treats tossed into water and eventually hit on a combination of ingredients that appealed to every horse, and began to carry bags of it on every ride.

Fellow trail riders and friends, Nancy Issenman and Leslie Reiss, tried Anne's homemade concoction on their horses and were impressed enough that they felt that it should be made available to everyone. With the help of Dr. John W. Filder at Pennfield Equine Feed Technologies they established a formula and began manufacturing their new product, which they dubbed Horse Quencher.

Horse owners who have had the opportunity to try Horse Quencher have eagerly asked for more, and it was an instant hit at its launch at the Maryland and Harrisburg Horse Expos. Carriage business owner Jennifer Cushion of St. Augustine, Florida says "I keep Horse Quencher on all my carriages and now my boys drink whenever I want them to."

Horse Quencher is available in a variety of flavors including apple, peppermint, butterscotch and root beer; a 25-serving container is priced at $19.99. It's available at select retailers, by calling 888-783-6247, or online at
