Jeffers was founded in 1975 by Dr. Keith Jeffers, PhD, in the basement of his ranch home. He began his journey as an advisor for local livestock owners and soon realized that his customers needed a reliable and more cost efficient source for their supplies. Dr. Jeffers began to go door-to-door to establish a customer base, and soon had enough customers to start the very first Jeffers Catalog. "Dr. J" spent countless nights with his wife Dorothy and daughter Ruth (now VP of the company) hand delivering these catalogs. Jeffers now has three catalogs distributed to customers every change of season. The catalogs are for Pet Supplies, Equine Supplies, and Livestock Supplies.
In 1999, Jeffers ventured into the Online World with JeffersPet.com and quickly became popular with customers who were previously buying through the catalog. Since ’99, the website has been continuously improved with customer feedback playing a key role in these changes. Now Jeffers operates three eCommerce sites, one for each catalog, and an Online Community page.
