Horse Press Release
April 7, 2004 - The MBNA America® Quarter Horse Racing Challenge is American Quarter Horse racing's richest program and horse racing's only series with a championship ending finale'. Today, the American Quarter Horse Association is pleased to announce sponsor additions and changes to the 2004 Racing Challenge.
The MBNA America Quarter Horse Racing Challenge is a $5 million purse and bonus awards program, of which more than 60 percent is added money from AQHA Corporate Partners and host racetracks.
"The success of the MBNA Challenge program greatly depends on the support of our corporate partners," said AQHA Executive Director of Racing Gary Carpenter. "We are thrilled to welcome our three newcomers, MD Barns, Wrangler and Vetrolin, and are pleased to continue our partnership with the returning sponsors."
AQHA's team of corporate partners will account for $1 million of this year's Challenge.

2. Wrangler will sponsor this year's Leading Jockey award.
3. MD Barns will sponsor the Challenge Distance series.
In addition to the new Challenge partners, Ford will move its sponsorship to the Challenge Juvenile, and John Deere will join the Challenge team with its sponsorship of the Challenge Distaff series. John Deere also contributes to another racing program, the Mid America Series.
