Horseware Products Ltd. was established in 1985 by Tom and Carol MacGuinness as a result of Tom challenging himself to produce a horse blanket that was waterproof, breathable and did not move on the horse. From the outset, the company sought to develop a range of horse blankets which made life more comfortable for your horse and easier for you through major innovations in material and design. The company now employs 150 people at three manufacturing facilities in Dundalk Co. Louth and Kingscourt Co. Cavan, in Ireland and at North Carolina, USA. In early 1998 Horseware opened a distribution centre in Maitland, NSW, Australia.
Since the first Horseware blanket was made in 1984 the company has led the market in product innovation and design. In 1990 Horseware Ireland revolutionised the market by introducing the RAMBO Turnout, the first truly waterproof and breathable horse blanket that really worked, using hydrophilic coating technology called AquaTrans. The RAMBO Turnout also incorporated innovative features such as the use of tough ballistic grade nylon, no back seams, short cross surcingles and a guaranteed nonslip design. By 1996 the RAMBO Turnout had become the world's best selling Turnout and its classic design had become the industry standard. In 1997, Horseware again broke the mould introducing the RAMBO WUG, a dramatic new patented design which won Best Product Award at the British Equestrian Trade Fair and has gone on to take British and US markets by storm. In 1998 Horseware went one step further launching RAMBO WUG PLUS giving complete coverage from head to tail with a design concept which we believe will set the standards of the future.
For 25 Years, Triple Crown has produced the finest range of custom horse blankets in the world. Triple Crown has set the standard for quality material and workmanship that has earned them a special place in the hearts and tack rooms of American horsemen and women. In 1997, when Janet Munchak the owner and founder of Triple Crown decided to retire, she looked for a suitable company whom she could trust to continue the Triple Crown tradition. Horseware is honored to have been found worthy to carry on the Triple Crown legacy. Just as the Rambo brand is renowned world wide for its exceptional performance and durability, the Triple Crown range is acclaimed for its prestige and beauty. The fusion of these two great companies will afford an even greater choice to you and your horse than you ever thought possible.
