Short List for 2004 Olympic Eventing Team Announced Equestrian Press Release
Lexington, KY – The United States Equestrian Federation today announced the Short List and Alternates for the Short List for the 2004 Olympic Games Eventing Team. According to the official selection procedures, a total of fifteen horse and rider combinations may be named to the Short List and a rider may be named with more than one horse. The Short List is as follows:

Members of the Short List will arrive in Middleburg, Virginia on July 6th to train with USEF Chef d’Equipe and Technical Adviser, Mark Phillips as well as Dressage Instructor Sandy Phillips and Show Jumping Coach George Morris. The Mandatory Short List Outing will take place on July 13th at the Horse Park of New Jersey. Spectators are welcome to attend this competition, which will be the final opportunity for the USEF Eventing Selectors to observe these combinations in a competition setting before the naming of the Olympic Team. Veterinary inspections will be conducted on all horses on July 14th and 15th at the USEF Olympic Training Center in Gladstone, New Jersey. The Olympic Team will be announced on July 16th. The five team members along with an anticipated 5 additional replacement combinations will ship to the United Kingdom to train on July 18th. They will stay in the UK until shipping to Athens on August 10th.

We have a strong group on this Short List and we believe we will be sending a very competitive team to the Olympic Games.
