Olde Tyme Country Fair & National Driving Championships come to the Colorado Horse Park
Horse Press Release
Parker, CO – For the second consecutive year, the U.S. Equestrian National Combined Driving Singles Championships are being held at the Colorado Horse Park. The event August 27- 29 features the nation’s top drivers in a three-phase competition that requires energy, skill, precision and obedience. Held in conjunction with this prestigious event for the first time is the Olde Tyme Country Fair, an exciting two day fair featuring antiques, stage coach rides, sanctioned sheep dog trials, a pie eating contest and much more.
“We wanted to bring the excitement of the combined driving event to the entire family,” commented event organizer Deborah Terry. “This festival does just that. With carriage and draft horse classes, mutton busting, and gypsy horses, there is something for everyone.” The event is the first time that draft horse classes have been held at the Colorado Horse Park and anticipation is high.
“We are very excited to bring draft horses to the Park,” Terry said. “Everyone loves the power of these gentle giants.” Draft horses will show off their strength and maneuverability in various classes, including a Six-Up hitch.
The Olde Tyme Country Fair will be held in conjunction with days two and three of the National Combined Driving Championship. Spectators are welcome. The fair runs from 10:00 - 4:00 p.m. August 28 and 29. Tickets are just $5. Children under six are free. Free Parking.
