USDF Welcomes The Paddock Saddlery as Sponsor of New Volunteer of the Year Award

The United States Dressage Federation (USDF) is pleased to announce that The Paddock Saddlery will be the presenting sponsor of USDF's new Volunteer of the Year award. Nominations are currently being accepted for this new award, which will be presented annually at the USDF Annual Convention. This prestigious award of national scope recognizes one outstanding volunteer who has demonstrated exceptional commitment toward carrying out USDF's mission: "dedicated to education, the recognition of achievement, and the promotion of the sport of dressage."
The Paddock Saddlery provides casual and riding apparel, saddlery, and equipment for sport horse enthusiasts from its Chagrin Falls, Ohio, retail store; mobile store at competitions; and online at www.paddocksaddlery.com.
President and co-founder Lisa Gorretta stated, "Our commitment to sponsorship of the equestrian community began the year we opened in 1986. We are very pleased to expand our support of USDF and its programs through the recognition of volunteers who have given freely of their time, talent, and expertise in order to serve USDF and the sport of dressage at the national level."
Nominees for the Volunteer of the Year award must have volunteered at least 25 hours during the current year on any USDF-related project at the local, regional, or national level. They should have demonstrated consistent and cumulative volunteer activities over the past five years at USDF-recognized events, and have been a USDF group, intercollegiate/interscholastic, or participating member for at least five years.
The USDF Volunteer of the Year will be honored during USDF's Salute Gala at the Annual Convention and Symposium, which will be held November 30-December 5, 2004, in Lexington, Kentucky. The award winner will also receive a $500 gift certificate from The Paddock Saddlery.
