J.J. Maxwell Tack & Saddle Co. is a small, family operated business located in Shasta County in Northern California. Joe Maxwell has been a custom saddle maker since since 1993. He was trained by a California State Certified Master in the old Visalia tradition. He believes strongly in educating people about proper fit and positioning of their saddles; as well as the importance of a well constructed and properly rigged saddle. Last, but not least, the importance of a properly built seat. Joe and his wife Cindy have owned horses for most of their adult lives and know from experience what is needed to have a secure, comfortable, balanced saddle that fits the horse and rider.
