Purchase: I purchased these boots on Ebay for a good price: $126 including shipping. I needed some lightweight comfortable schooling sportboots for my dressage horse that would keep dirt out, protect, and would come in my favorite color as well: pink! :)
Likes: I had ALWAYS heard good things about SMB Elites and the good things are TRUE! They are easy to put on although it takes some time to get used to applying them right...it gets faster and easier with time. They are lightweight and provide shock absorption and don't hinder the horse's movement, which VERY important. They come in different colors and mine is pink, so that was cool. Usually sportboots don't give you a choice nowadays, black and white are the status quo. They are ERGONOMIC and are anatomically correct to a horse's curves which makes them fit like a glove. Last, but not least, the price was better than any I'd seen in catalogues/stores. The boots come with a coupon to redeem through the mail for FREE matching bell boots/tote and also have a WARRANTY by the manufacturer.
Dislikes: At first, they are a little difficult to put on until you get the hang of it, at first I was skeptical about having to put all 4 of them on every time I ride, but you get used to it and they get easier and "break in".
Quality: The construction is sufficient. They are made of lime-stone based neoprene and are EXCELLENT for dressage flatwork. I wouldn't recommend them for eventing (going through water and mud) or endurance...they get wet/muddy too fast. Dry areas I give it the okay! ;)
Summary: Good price for the boots. I say if you can get them for this price or cheaper, go for it! They are really good for dry flatwork!
