Purchase: Bought this shampoo at a horse supply warehouse at Texas location. The size is 32 oz for $7.99, but that price may have changed. Since it is a big bottle and concentrated, a little goes a long way and it has lasted quite a while.
Likes: Don't know about others but I rather like the medicinal "Vetrolin liniment" smell to it. The product is an emerald green gel. It lathers really well in a bucket and is easy to sponge onto the horse especially when he's not anxious to have a bath. It contains a sunscreen to protect skin and hair and Vitamin E. Rinsing off is no problem either.
Dislikes: No dislikes. Good brand that lives up to its reputation.
Quality: It is slightly higher in cost because of the ingredients. This is an ultra-hydrating conditioning shampoo and gives your horse a little more than ordinary shampoos which may strip the coat of its natural oils. I feel better knowing that it puts something back in the coat when shampooing. You shouldn't over shampoo anyway, but this product leaves me feeling confident about that plus I've never had any problems using it.
Summary: I like the Vetrolin Shampoo and it keeps well in the tack room. It leaves the horse's coat with a sheen and is easy to use by following the directions of 2 - 4 ounces in a pail of water. What's not to like? I say, "buy the quality, concentrated product because you can stretch it out when you're concerned about cost."
