Purchase: I needed a bridle for my second horse. I had purchased a Courbette for my first horse 11 years ago and it's still in use and looks good. I ordered this bridle from my local tack shop. The cost was 244.00 and included web reins.

Likes: I like everything about the bridle, it's perfect. I have been bridle shopping for quite a while for my tough to fit QH cross. This is the first bridle I've found out of the 8 well known brands I've tried that fits well AND is excellent quality.

Dislikes: Courbette's sizing is a little strange. They seem to run normally, but you can't rely too much on the measurements on their website. It's a gamble as to what the pieces will actually measure, but even so, I've never had a problem with fit since they are generously adjustable and seem to keep with the average bridle sizes.

Quality: This is a beautiful bridle. Very classic and put together extremely well. The color, berber brown, is nice and rich but does not leave marks on my grey horse's white face, even with sweat or rain. The leather is excellent quality and the construction is sturdy but not at all bulky. Courbette's leather has a more 'solid' feel to it, which I'm guessing is typical of German leather. It will soften as you break it in or condition it, but it will not turn to mush like some other leathers (which I don't care for). I ride cross country and put serious consideration into the quality of my tack. It has to be comfortable for my horse and most of all reliable. I have no doubt this bridle will hold up and look good doing it.

Summary: I think Courbette bridles are worth the money. They do come in a lower price point called the 'Majic' line. I have not tried or seen these so do be aware of the difference.
