Purchase: I wanted a new helmet extremely bad because the IRH helmet I had was horrible and I hated it. I heard a lot of good comments about the GPA, so I thought what the heck, I'll buy one. I went to my local tack shop to try them on, and the Textium fit my head best but the price was through the roof. I found one on an online store for only $350.. more than $100 less than the retail price, so I bought it.
Likes: This is hands down the best investment I've ever made. I LOVE this helmet more than anything. After coming off an IRH, the GPA is SO much better. Where do I start? Well, first of all, the fit was so much better. The helmet actually sat lower on my head, other than sitting on top of it like a huge bubble (the IRH). It is also soooo comfy! The interior is wrapped in an almost sqishy, gell-like filled fabric that makes the helmet mold to your head perfectly. I have heard that the first week or so your head will hurt while you break it in, but mine was fine! It did not hurt me at all, and the helmet is quite snug. I also can barely feel it on my head! The IRH felt like a ten-pound weight, but my new GPA is as light as a feather... sometimes I forget I have it on! I REALLY love the molded shell, and how the back of the helmet has a space to hold in your hair and conform to your upper neck. Because I got the helmet in winter, and it still is winter, I haven't gotten to experience how 'cool' it is in the summer. I've heard since the Textium doesn't have all of those front vents like the Titium, it is hotter in the summer. Well, who cares! I cannot personally say if it gets good air flow or not, but I'm pretty sure I can handle my head getting sweaty in the summer. Everything is just what I dreamed of in this helmet. I also cannot personally say what the helmet does in a fall, since I have not fallen since I've gotten it. But it seems like it wouldn't obtain a scratch.
Dislikes: The price, obviously. But if you want a nice helmet that is going to last and make you look AWESOME then I would recommend buying it. I do not think anyone should settle for anything lower than a very nice helmet for their protection... your head is just too important for imitations.
Quality: VERY good construction, built to last. I love the material on the helmet, and how dirt washes off so easily with a damp cloth. The helmet is very sturdy, and the seems to be able to last in falls.
Summary: The bottom line is that I wish I would have gotten this helmet sooner. I only dreamed that I'd have an actual GPA one day.. but now I do and I'm loving it. This is a great product, no matter what anyone says about the price. Yeah, it's expensive.. but you are paying for such good quality that is going to last. I would recommend this helmet for anyone who cares about their safety and wants to look soooo good!
