Purchase: I purchased this product at a local tack store in the Waterloo area. It cost around $30 for a 118ml spray bottle. I needed it because my german shepherd came home from a trail walk with a pretty nasty flesh wound in his side. He got caught up on something and was missing about 2 teaspoons of tissue out of a wound that was about 2" in diameter. There was also a puncture wound inside this wound about the size of a pen and approximately 1.5" deep. This would have easily been a $500 trip to the vet which I simply couldn't afford. So, I put all my trust in the Well-Horse healing resin and used nothing else on the wound.
Likes: This product comes in a spray. I used the 118ml bottle twice a day for the first 2 weeks and then once a day for the next 2 weeks. I ran out just as I no longer needed to use it and the wound had healed. My dog is on prednisone which should have slowed the healing process. In talking to my vet she expected this wound to take a couple of months to heal and to stay open for at least the first month. The healing resin healed this open wound from start to finish in one month. Record time! At 10 days the wound contracted and at 30 days it was down to a small dime sized scab. Now at 6 weeks post-injury the healing process is done and the hair is growing back in. And I want to stress that this product is the only thing I used on this wound. No antibiotics, no stitches, no lotions, potions. Just the Well-Horse Healing Resin. I will always have some on hand. It can be used on any animal.
Dislikes: It has a bit of an odour that might bother some people. My 10 year old son wasn't fond of it, but it really didn't bother me and I was the one treating the wound with my nose right over it!
Quality: The 118ml spray bottle is small, but it goes far. I only needed one bottle for an entire month of daily treatments. The sprayer did not get clogged up, even though there were instructions to rinse it under hot water should that happen.
Summary: Fabulous product and an absolute must-have for large animals and off-leash pets. Without a doubt my best new product find in years!
