Purchase: I was looking for a nice solid western saddle for training, trail riding & show. A trusted friend highly recommended anything by Eamors, a custom saddle maker in Alberta, Canada, but cautioned that they don't come cheap. Browsing the internet for Eamors, I came across an ad on a local classifieds website for one. It must've been the perfect time because this one was listed at $350 Cdn. Quizzing the seller and establishing that nothing was wrong with the saddle, we came to learn that it was just taking up space in the tack room and the seller wanted it gone. On the old Eamors website the same saddle, with partial floral tooling and russet leather, was over $1,800 Cdn. Wow.

Likes: This saddle is incredibly sturdy, but not so big or cumbersome that it looks out of place in the show ring. It's solid enough to pony horses from or do some roping, but is comfortable enough for long trail rides and secure enough for training.

Dislikes: This saddle, true to many roping models and customs, is heavy. Those who have bad backs or smaller horses might appreciate something lighter.

Quality: The 1590 is built on a tree that is 15 3/4". With all of seat material being added, it ends up to be about 15". 7/8 rigging, full quarter horse bars. Partial floral tooling. Suede seat.

Summary: An amazing saddle for such a great price, but I know a deal like this doesn't come along often. If you have a budget that allows for $2,000 saddles, a custom Eamor might be the way to go. If you can't afford such an expense, look around - I have seen several Eamors in the $600 - $900 range at different times. This saddle had been through a lot before I got it, and I've also put it through a lot, but I can imagine that based on its condition, it still has many years of hard use left.
