Purchase: I got these halters from Big Dee's website. I paid around $18. I wanted cheap leather halters as they are safer then nylon ones.

Likes: It is leather and has worked exactly how I wanted it too. I always try to use a leather halter on horses I am working with because if the horse spooks and pulls back a leather halter will break when a nylon will not. When the halter breaks the pressure is released and the horse generally will calm down (I have not seen one that did not). If the pressure is not released the situation tends to accelerate and the horse usually ends up hurt. I have bought 4 of these halters now and with 2 of them a situation arose where the horse pulled back and the halter broke just as I wanted it too.

Dislikes: After daily use the edges of the leather get a little worn looking and not as crisp as they were when they were new. This is not a big deal since I knew I was buying a cheap halter, so I was not expecting beautiful quality leather.

Quality: This is like I said before a cheap halter, so leather quality is pretty low.

Summary: For the price it is hard to bet.
