Purchase: Purchased these new from Smartpak. Paid $149.00 I needed a half chap for a wide 16.5" calf.

Likes: The leather was really excellent quality and I love the look of a tall boot for lower level dressage shows as well as daily training.

Dislikes: These chaps weren't as stretchy as I hoped and were difficult to get zipped up at first. I purchased the 17" to fit my 16.5" calf with breeches. Was almost afraid to keep zipping as the chaps just barely fit. Once on however,they fit like a glove and didn't feel tight.

Quality: As I mentioned, I really was very pleased with the quality of the leather and the look is beautiful!

Summary: Love the chaps but I would consider going up a full inch due to extra wear and tear on the zipper from such a tight fit. Over all very pleased with them.
