Likes: The design concept of the comfort poll type bridle is a good idea from my point of view - the padding around the poll surely must make for a more comfortable experience for a horse. I am a novice rider so don't have any great demands beyond a good fit and decent quality materials. The option of contrasting padding is a nice, if purely cosmetic, option to make your bridle a bit distinctive.
Dislikes: The size was way too big overall on my TB who is normally not that hard to fit in a standard Full size bridle. Noseband and flash were enormous, even taking into account the petite nose my boy has. Rubber backed reins very inflexible and unwieldy for a beginner who doesn't need the extra challenge of reins that just won't sit out of the way. Proportionally it's just all wrong.
Quality: This bridle was touted as "English" leather - utter rubbish. This bridle was made of poor quality, stiff Indian leather. Stitching was intermittent, the fittings clearly nickel plated, so rust is in the future. The reins were quite short. Showed crease marks from buckles almost instantly. I cleaned and conditioned it many times but this made no improvement. The contrasting blue padding had black marks on it.
Summary: I sold this bridle ASAP. Don't bother with FSS bridle-ware. Not only did the cheap and nasty poor quality bridle disappoint but the appalling "customer service" (read: outright rudeness and zero cooperation or communication) from the seller, "Free Spirits Saddlery" or whatever Honey is calling herself on Ebay these days, left a bad taste in my mouth. Run a mile. Whilst you can't necessarily associate bad service with bad quality, in this case I believe it's accurate. I went with a Heritage bridle of the exact same design type and am more than happy with it. Plus it cost less!
