Purchase: I got this saddle on trial directly from Nancy at Duett. It sells for $949 I believe.
Likes: I love this saddle. It's roomy and comfortable and I felt very balanced in it. The leather is good quality and it is well made. It looks very nice, and it fit me to a T.
Dislikes: My first dislike is not so much as something prospective buyers need to know about. The saddle is built on a hoop tree and it really does fit those wide hard-to-fit horses. The only difficulty is that it had a little too much scoop to it for an extremely flat backed horse. The 36cm I tried was too wide for my horse so if not for that, the panels probably wouldn't have been a huge problem, just not ideal. The second thing is that when the 36cm was too wide, Nancy sent me a 34cm to try. It was wider than the 36! Very obviously wider. I only rode in it for ten minutes at the walk and trot and it was up his neck. I really wanted to get the 32 to try, but I wasn't sure if I would actually get a true 32, so I didn't want to spend all the money on shipping. Also, the panels on that saddle were much flatter. I think the second saddle was just a fluke. I had ridden in another Duett saddle previously and it was perfect (just wasn't my size). I would order from them again - I'm sure that was just a mistake.
Quality: Quality of the saddle is excellent. I've seen older ones that have been used regularly and they stay in great shape.
Summary: I really like Duett saddles, and it's unfortunate that I was unable to keep any of the ones I tried. Really great company with a great product. It's hard to find saddles for really wide horses without spending $2000 or more. I would recommend them.
