Purchase: I bought this at our local feed and tack store for $62 because my riding instructor recommended the ovation brand and I was tired of using my old schooling helmet.

Likes: This helmet is extremely lightweight and fits my oval shaped head extremely well. I have a hard head to fit and I just plunked this helmet on my head and fit was achieved with no issues- the padding self adjusts around your head very well for a snug fit and you don't even have to fiddle with it. Also this helmet has one of the dial fit systems and the back is notched out for a pony tail, so it is much more comfy than other helmets. The ventilation is extremely good in this helmet and the lining is very cool, with some awesome "coolmax" letters all over it. It also has a nice rubberized finish to it also, and contrasting piping that is very reflective.

Dislikes: The rubberized finish looks dusty fast, but really that's me stretching things out... I love this helmet!

Quality: The design is great! It accomplishes it's task well and comfortably. Obviously not much else can be said about a helmet as all must meet high construction and material standards, but I feel like this is one of the best helmets as far as bang for your buck is concerned. It is very comfortable and the design is nice and mainstream without sacrificing safety.

Summary: I honestly believe after my experience with other big name helmet companies that Ovation makes a superior product compared to other helmets in comparative price brackets. I now recommend the deluxe schooler or the sync (which I have) to all my students. It fits most heads better than the other brands which automatically makes it safer. Adjustment of this helmet is easy. It stays very cool and breaths well- an absolute necessity, especially during the summer months. The dial fit design is excellent and allows almost any hairstyle to be worn with the helmet. If you don't have one of these you really must get one.
