Purchase: I bought this oil at a tack store near my house, I paid about $20 for it. My Circuit saddle was an orange-reddish color and I wanted it to be dark brown like my bridle. I had heard really good things about this oil so I decided to try it.
Likes: It didn't stain my hands or clothes, it didn't have a strong odor either. The oil was a clear color, so it wasn't really messy.
Dislikes: This oil did not darken my saddle evenly at all. It darkened some parts A LOT more than others. It seems that the places on the saddle where the leather was more broken in (seat, knee rolls) darkened a lot more and quicker than places where the leather was not as used and worn (pommel, cantle). This resulted in my saddle having random dark splotches and random light ones. It really did not darken my saddle as evenly and nicely as I wanted, no matter how many times I applied the oil some parts just didn't absorb it and some parts absorbed it too much.
Quality: The container closed well and didn't leak at all.
Summary: I wouldn't recommend this at all. I finally got my saddle to even out by applying Leather New deep conditioning oil and left my saddle in the sun with it for a few minutes and it darkened completely and evenly leaving no traces of the mess that Hydrophane left. My saddle was not that expensive, but if I had just bought a new Devoucoux I'd be really mad if this oil did the same thing to its leather.
