Purchase: Crest Ridge Saddlery. My husband and I purchased our Tennessee Walking horses in September of 2011. We purchased Fabron gaited saddles with full quarter horse bars. These did not fit our horses and 3 months later the saddles were up for sale at our local tack shop. Being retired and on a fixed income, this was really a blow to us. We prayed and ask God to show us a saddle company who could meet our needs. I read about Crestridge Saddlery on the net and called the owner, Debra. We liked everything she said, especially the "money-back" guarantee. I paid $900 for my Sentry lite after ordering some extras. My hubby, Orin, paid $1,176 for his Wade.
Likes: I liked EVERYTHING about my saddle, as did Orin his; very long functional leather ties, such a comfortable seat, quality leather; D-rings were set to enable more than one type of rigging. Lite enough for me to lift it onto my horse without banging her side with it. It's a good looking saddle that you can be proud of.
Dislikes: There is NOTHING I don't like about the saddle.
Quality: The construction of the saddle is top notch. Debra uses Amish saddle-making trademen to make her saddles. They only know how to make a quality product -- NO shortcuts. The D-rings are firmly set and there is a crupper attachment D.
Summary: PLEASE, don't buy a saddle until you talk with Debra at Crest Ridge Saddlery. She is purposed and determined to meet you and your horse's needs. An ill-fitting saddle is NOT a comfortable saddle for your horse and consequently will not be a comfortable ride for you or your loving mount. Besides, you may save $1,000 off the top by not throwing your hard-earned dollars away on a saddle you can't use, which is exactly what Orin and I did. Debra is a gracious, Christian business woman and is very serious about what she does. She rides almost every day, and has experienced ill-fitting saddles. Debra puts YOUR money where her mouth is! She walks her talk and finds great pleasure in making sure your saddle is comfortable for you and your wonderful horse. Remember, fellow horse-riding "buds," Debra's only a phone call away! We're so very happy we placed our trust in her and took her at her word. You'll be too.
