Purchase: I got this saddle for Christmas last year from Stubben's website ( when they were doing their "web saddles" special. It normally retails for about $1200 (I think, or maybe a little less) and I got it for $800. It is an AWESOME saddle!!!

Likes: I've only used this saddle (riding in it about 4 or so times a week...used for trail riding, training/exercising, and show) for about 8 months. A few weeks into riding in it I spent about 5 hours a day in it for 3 or 4 days and it felt like I've had it for years! The wool flocked panels are great, they really conformed to my horse's back so I can ride with or without a saddle pad. The leather is very supple and easy to break in - but it's also very durable. The seat is soft and very comfy! Also, the knee rolls on the flaps aren't big enough to get in the way. The 32cm ("wide") tree is perfect and seems to fit a wide range of horses. This saddle breaks in very nicely and I'd have to say I love it! I wouldn't trade it for any Pessoa, Amerigo, Prestige, or Passier you threw at me.

Dislikes: Nothing really, this saddle is perfect for me and my horse. The only thing someone might not like about it is that it has no knee or thigh blocks. That doesn't bother me because it's made me learn how to really use my legs and not rely on the blocks, plus...I never really realized they weren't there! :o)

Quality: The leather is of the highest quality (of course, it's Stubben). It breaks in easily and is super comfy from the get go. It conforms to your horse's back and breaks into "you" quickly. For being the "lower quality" like from Stubben (is that possible?! haha) it still keeps true to Stubben features and quality. The wool flocked panels and knee rolls don't deaden sound and feel and still give you a great opportunity to communicate with your horse, they also are of higher quality and last much longer - everything about this saddle is soft and supple.

Summary: I think everyone should own one...of course! :o) I love this saddle and wouldn't trade it for any saddle in the world. I've ridden in it for one summer and it looks like I've been riding in it for 5 years....So good!
