Purchase: I bought these bell boots at State Line Tack for $13. I bought them because they looked quality, and I liked the Davis splint boots. I also liked all the colors to choose from.
Likes: I like the array of colors to choose from, the ease of cleaning the smooth rubber (you can just hose them off and they look great again), and the price. They protect my horse's coronets if he hits his front feet on a fence rail, and of course they are also good for horses that over-reach. They do the job.
Dislikes: Davis bell boots don't last very long. I wasn't using them very often and the Velcro separated from the rubber in less than two seasons. If I'd been using them often, they probably would've given way after one season. I also have a friend who was keeping them on her horse all the time, and he'd go through them in a few months because the Velcro just comes away from the rubber and you can't use them anymore.
Quality: The bell boots are made of smooth rubber and have a double-locking Velcro closure.
Summary: Davis bell boots serve their purpose, but they don't last very long. I would recommend pull-on bell boots instead. They're harder to put on and take off, but when you get the hang of them, it's worth it because they don't wear out as fast.
