Purchase: I found Mary on the internet, about 3 or 4 years ago. And I have purchased more than one Mary's saddle.
Likes: I have a very fancy show saddle, and a great reining saddle, most of my friends now also own a Mary's saddle, they are exceptionally well made, no corners have been cut, and only the best materials have been used. And when you sit in them, you feel very centered, and comfortable.
The other wonderful thing that I really like about my Mary's saddles is that they fit just about every horse I put them on, my saddles spend a lot of time on everyone else's horses..so they have really been tested in the fitting department. For those with special needs, My husband has a very big horse, 1/2 percheron, and we are having a custom Mary's saddle made for her, that's the beauty of custom built along with knowledgeable service, you can get what you need and what you want, and with Mary's custom tack, you can be sure you won't be overcharged.
Dislikes: I'm a saddle maker myself, and I have stopped building saddles since I got my first Mary's saddle, I only ride in hers now. Its hard to top a Mary's saddle, the bar is set very high.
Quality: Also because I was a saddle maker myself I have had a peek under the hood of my Mary's saddles and they are not only beautiful and well made on the outside, but just as strong and lovely on the inside...and that really counts to me.
Summary: You just couldn't find a better saddle for a better price anywhere, and its very comforting to deal with someone who still has pride, honour and your best interest at heart. If you haven't ridden in a Mary's saddle then your really missing out.
