Purchase: I bought this product in the local hardware store called TSC, though it is found in many other stores in the area including Greenhawk. I needed it because the mare I was leasing was getting ambushed by flies during the hot summer days of 2005. At the time, I paid roughly 10 dollars for 1L of the product, which was fair because i didn't have too much money towards equine related items.
Likes: Bronco Fly Spray is able to kill certain types of flies on the spot (it advertised that it repels 5 different types). It worked best on the smaller ones; such as fruit flies. Within seconds I had gotten near 25 of them lingering on a door in the barn. I also enjoy that it comes in a bottle where you can apply it directly, instead of always needing to use a cloth, because it states that it is harmful if absorbed through skin.
Dislikes: What I did not enjoy about Bronco is that it seems feeble against the larger types of flies. There had been moments where directly after I had spray my horse head to hoof, that a fly would just come and land where I had sprayed; causing me to need to apply more. Despite my efforts, the large house-fly would not depart. It seems as though it needs to be stronger or to change the mixture so it can defend against bigger insects. However I do not wish it to be more harmful towards humans, seeing as you are already not supposed to touch the spray.
Quality: Therefore I believe that the quality of the product is somewhat limited. Only because it says that it kills and repels 5 different flies, including ticks, and I find that it only works on one, maybe two.
Summary: My final thoughts are that Bronco is not the best quality or the best economically, but it seems to be the least expensive, (you get what you pay for).
