Purchase: I bought these boots from Dover Saddlery for about $80-$90. I bought them for the ease of a pull-on and the steel toe.

Likes: The leather feels very supple and is completely waterproof. The steel toes were nice for the some of those flighty boarders' horses. The waterproof leather held up well even though they got wet every day. They have a good look if you are wearing them with pants that come down over top of jeans. I wouldn't wear them around with breeches or anything. These boots also work well with the right kinds of half chaps. Very comfortable to wear all day. The boots are roomier too so you can wear heavier socks in the winter.

Dislikes: They fell apart rather quickly. On the inside, the lining on the back of the heal came completely apart and the sole was also beginning to separate from the upper fairly soon. The steel toes did add a lot of weight to the boot, which you would only notice once you took them off after wearing them all day. While wearing with half chaps, though they don't restrict your ankle at all, they are very low-cut, so the back of them come out from under half chaps (I have Ariat half chaps) and, therefore, allowed the half chaps to rub at your bare skin unless you had tall, thick socks on.

Quality: nice design and look to these boots. Lovely waterproof leather and steel toes. The leather held up to daily use, but the rest of the boot did not! They fell apart WAY TOO SOON!

Summary: If you aren't going to be using them vigorously, then they are great. Plenty waterproof too. If you will use them a TON, then stay away!
