Category: English Bridles

Purchase: One day while shopping at my local Pet Smart store, I looked at the bridles just out of curiosity, thinking they'd all be cheap junk. To my surprise, the Weaver fancy stitch caught my eye. I needed a new schooling bridle badly, and figured this one might do until I could find a really nice show bridle later and elsewhere. It was a nice color, wasn't ram-rod stiff, and the thread was tight and even. For around 50 bucks, it was worth the risk.

Likes: Almost everything! When I tried it on my Arab, it was a little big, but there was room on the crown straps to poke two holes either side. Best of all, this horse size bridle's cavesson fit my Arab, something no other full size does. It fit my big horse nicely, except for that smallish cavesson. Fine, I wanted a schooling bridle for the Arab anyway. I conditioned it in Horseman's One Step, and rode with it once. Oh, it's FANTASTIC!!! Butter soft, melts in my hands now, and still so pretty!!! No dye run off, no cracks. Love the color!

Dislikes: No dislikes at all. It's nicer than the Paris Tack fancy stitch I bought elsewhere at three times the price. For Arabs over 15.2 hands, the full size Weaver is the bridle you need. (See my Paris Tack FS review) next.

Quality: Excellent. It's color is painted on, not dyed, but it's consistent and solid. The bridle takes oil well, breaks in after one use. Stitching and buckles and design is tight, even, strong and very attractive.

Summary: I really like this bridle, and will probably even use it for local showing. It's a steal at $49.00 (or so, I forget exactly). It's absolutely better than the Paris Tack, of which I have nothing good to say. Happy trails!
