Purchase: I bought my Circle Y Flex-Lite saddle online for $1250.
Likes: I like the looks of the saddle: it is a mahogany color, with brass "beads" around it...very little tooling. It's really classy looking and I got a lot of comments on the looks of the saddle. I also really like the flex fenders. They bend easily and I have never experienced knee pain when using this saddle.
Dislikes: The saddle has not held up. The seat is collapsing. I spent what I considered to be a lot of money for my "lifetime saddle". The flex tree is supposed to help the saddle fit better on a larger variety of horses. In truth, it doesn't fit particularly well on ANY of my horses. The seat is very uncomfortable now that it is collapsing. I am trying to get Circle Y to provide some sort of warranty and they have ignored me to this point. I have always owned "no name" saddles and I always wanted a Circle Y saddle (my idea of a great saddle). I have been extremely disappointed and feel like I wasted my money.
Quality: I believe the construction of the saddle is poor. The seat is collapsing on itself. Also, if you run your hand under the saddle when it is on the horse you can feel a hard ridge where the the tree framing is pushing through.
Summary: My experience with the Circle Y saddle and their lack of response to my issues has been very disappointing. I will never buy another Circle Y saddle - nor will I recommend them to any horse people. I'm really bummed that I have to start hunting for a replacement saddle again (this saddle is less than 2 years old).
