Purchase: I needed a new halter for my horse as her old one was a little too small and starting to rub her cheek, where one of the buckles sat. I got this under the tree at Christmas, but the Weaver basic halters are generally around $20.00 Cdn. It came from Victoria Feeds - Horse & Hound in Lindsay, Ontario.

Likes: A nice looking halter for a reasonable price. This one fits my horse perfectly and hasn't rubbed at all. Despite several months of use in bad weather conditions (snow, rain, etc..) the colour is still sharp and nothing has frayed yet. My horse is hard on her halters as she loves to rub her nose on anything within reach, but it still looks great.

Dislikes: Nothing much.. I'd prefer an adjustable noseband on the basic halter, but the model that's the next step up has one.

Quality: 1" nylon halter, box stitched at stress points, heat-sealed oblong buckle holes and brass plated hardware. Weaver has been around for a long time and is a trusted name.

Summary: Though I don't picture this halter wearing out anytime soon, when I do need a new one, I'll probably go for the next step up.. the one with the adjustable nose, and breakaway crown feature.
