Purchase: When I ordered a saddle package a while ago, it came with a Chetak bridle. It felt nice and looked great out of the box, but after just over a year of use, it doesn't look all that great anymore despite being well cared for. It's now my schooling bridle. I wanted a bridle I could show in, but couldn't afford to pay an arm and a leg for it. After looking through all of my options, I found the Brighton Bridlework Fancy Stitched Snaffle Bridle from Victoria Feeds - the Horse & Hound in Lindsay, Ontario. It's approximately $80.00 Cdn without tax.

Likes: It's a gorgeous bridle! The brow and nosebands are raised and have fancy stitching on them. Both are also padded. The reins are also raised, close to where they attach to the bit, and the same fancy stitching which adorns the bridle is also there. It looks classy. The leather was also buttery soft right from the start, needing just a light oiling before I used it.

Dislikes: My Chetak bridle didn't have any padding on it, and it was cob sized. My new bridle (from Brighton) has padding. I got it in the cob size as well. It fits a little tighter then what I'm used to, but with more time, the padding will start to flatten a little and it should fit like my other one does. That's not really a dislike though.. just a thought for anyone buying a padded bridle versus the unpadded kind.

Quality: Such a nice bridle. The stitching is all tight and even, the padding is sufficient but not overdone. The leather colour is all uniform, and the leather itself is supple. The silver hardware adds a polished look.

Summary: I'm so happy with this bridle. It will, no doubt, provide me with years of good use - and I didn't have to break the bank!
