Purchase: I bought the Nurtural Bitless Bridle from Nurtural Horse in Canada. The bridle was approx $155.50AUD plus shipping. They are now being sold in Australia for around $160AUD. I bought it for my TB ex-racehorse who wasn't going well in a bitted bridle and it was suggested I tried a bitless bridle.

Likes: I like that it isn't a hackamore or bosal, but a clever design that uses the same pressure release system as a normal bridle. My horse responded better immediately - he stopped pulling and sticking his nose up in the air. It took about 15 minutes for us to get used to it. I also loved the Beta material- it is as supple as good leather, looks beautiful and low maintenance.

Dislikes: What can I say I'm a convert! No more bits for us! My horse and I are much happier and we actually enjoy riding now. I love my bitless bridle and the quality is great. I ride and compete at lower levels of dressage and unfortunately you aren't permitted to ride bitless in dressage competitions. Nevertheless, I intend to use my for training at home and for warming up before tests.

Quality: The bridle I bought is made of a material called beta and I really like the feel of it, soft and supple but not like plastic. I am assured that it is very strong though similar or stronger than leather. The first thing I noticed when I took it out of the box was it's quality- it's great. Someone has taken the time to construct them with care.

Summary: All in all, bitless riding seems to be a great way to reconnect with your horse, and for me and my horse it has eliminated some problems that were making riding and training really unenjoyable. I have already ordered one for our mini pony too! Great concept.
