Purchase: I bought the Beta bridle from the website for $83 (ouch) because the Morgan mare I ride has a hard mouth and had to be hidden in a pelham. She had also developed the habit of "exploding" into her canter.

Likes: I LOVE this bridle and my mare LOVES it too. Well, that might be an overstatement. She doesn't love any bridle. She was quite from the first ride. The manual that comes with the bridle says to ride in an enclosed area for the first time. I rode bareback in the outdoor on a windy day and my canter happy girl was prefect. No exploding, nice quite transitions. She did need to relearn how to steer, but she picked it up quickly. Without a bit to distract her, she is so in tune to me now. Usually, I don't need reins to steer, I just look and she goes. I have to be careful now because she will turn even if I'm just casually looking at something. I also have to be careful how I look to jumps so that I can get a proper turn. She is also more responsive to leg whereas before she was nearly numb to it. My mare used to be a speed demon but now she is such a RELAXED slow pock and stops easily. It is hard to get her round but with this bridle she dropping her head more into a natural carriage. I can't say enough about this bridle

Dislikes: Besides the price, the only thing I don't like about this bridle is that you never if you can show in it or not. I had to lobby to get it past my high school riding team. But I did and we had a GREAT season. So if anyone wants to show in this bridle, fight for it and you just might make it.

Quality: I have the Beta bridle, which twist easily, but I doubt people would have that problem with leather. It is easily to clean and very well built.

Summary: I would recommend this to anyone with a horse that might not be fond of bits or has an issue steering or stopping. Basically if you want a more relaxed horse, try this bridle.
