Purchase: I purchased this saddle from Cynthia at Dixieland Gaited saddles after having found this company on the internet. I contacted Cynthia, and we had several phone conversations and send many emails. She sent me tree forms to try on my horse to assure a perfect fit. Then I custom ordered my saddle to my exact specifications. Even so, the cost was no more or less than a production saddle, in the neighborhood of $900 to $1000 will all my extras.
Likes: I love this saddle!!! It is one of the most beautiful and well made saddles I have ever seen. Fits my horse and me like a glove. You cannot imagine how comfortable this saddle is for both of us. My opinion is shared by everyone who sees it on my horse. In fact, I have friend who was so impressed that she is going to order one for herself. My friend has had many saddles over the years, but says she is getting rid of all them and just going to keep the one from Dixieland.
Dislikes: So far, nothing. Wish it were just a bit lighter in weight, but doubt the quality would be the same if it was.
Quality: Excellent in every respect.
Summary: Guess I said it all above. I could honestly recommend this company to anyone. I also bought a set of reins from Dixieland, they were very inexpensive and soft as glove leather when oiled. However, I should add that Cynthia, who owns this company, will spend all the time needed to get your saddle just right. She is as sweet and helpful as any person could be.
