Purchase: Bought used on e-Bay. Paid $660 for saddle with pad, girth, leathers, irons, and complete gullet kit.
Likes: First, it FINALLY made my long-suffering TB mare comfortable! She strode out immediately like she did when I rode her bareback (in desperation). With my previous saddle(s) she hollowed her back, threw up her head, fought the bit, and traveled crooked behind. She has "Mt. Everest" withers and a "scoopy" back, and this saddle FITS (love those CAIR panels!). Second, it puts me in position with minimum effort--feels so right. Third, I like the ease of maintenance - I just wipe it with a damp sponge mostly.
Dislikes: I don't like the overlay girth. It seems unnecessary. I am thinking about removing it.
Quality: I was a little snooty about a synthetic saddle at first, but this is fine quality, and it seems to be holding up really well (ride 3-4 times a week for about an hour). I bought it used, have used it about two months, and it still looks brand new.
Summary: These are fine saddles for the price. If I ever do trade up, I'll definitely get another saddle with CAIR, maybe a Bates Innova. But for now, my horse and I are very content with our Wintec Pro, and after almost two years, our saddle hunt is finally OVER!
