Purchase: I bought this bridle new at a tack shop close to where I live. It was bought new for $216.00 for the headstall and $92.00 for the matching plain laced reins. The store I bought it from was having a 20% off sale, so I ended up paying $248.00 for the set. I bought this to match my Newmarket-colored Prestige saddle and the color matched perfectly as the bridle and reins are a rich chestnut color. I decided on an Edgewater after considering numerous brands.

Likes: This bridle in my opinion is perfect. The leather is very soft and supple and the horse size fits my TB/WB cross perfectly. It breaks in right away, and takes the oil very nicely, with no color coming off. It is a very high quality bridle and as soon as I rode with it the first time I realized why so many people love and recommend this brand.

Dislikes: I really only have two main dislikes about this bridle: first I would have liked if the headstall and reins came together as a set and second I think the price is a bit steep, even though it's worth it for the excellent quality.

Quality: This bridle is beautifully crafted with detailed hand-stitching, buttery soft and supple leather and looks great in the store and even better on my horse! It's put together so well and looks like it will last a long time with proper care(I just bought it a couple weeks ago so can't say for sure)

Summary: This bridle is gorgeous, extremely well made and is a very good bridle. I almost feel bad using it it's so pretty! If you're looking for a top of the line bridle I would most definitely recommend you try an Edgewater. Believe me, you can definitely tell the difference between this bridle and one of the cheaper brands made using Indian leather, both in looks and in use. For the price difference, I would definitely tell you to go with quality.
