Category: Halters/Ropes/Leads

Purchase: I won this halter and lead combo from a show a few months ago. I'm not sure who the manufacturer is, but looking up similar styles of halters and leads online, it looks very similar to those from Triple E Manufacturing.

Likes: It's a nice looking halter. Some people might not like the grey and pink colour combination, but the grey perfectly matches the show cooler colour I use! The lead rope that came with it matches the halter, only pink and grey strips of woven nylon are braided together. I like that both clips (on the lead rope, and on the cheek piece of the halter) are replaceable. Should either snap get broken, you simply unhook it from one of the nylon loops and put a new one in its place. The halters noseband has a thin piece of suede on the inside (where the noseband would touch the horses nose) to help prevent rubs.

Dislikes: Though the halter and lead combination is pretty, I'm not too much of a fan of chunky, braided nylon lead ropes. They're hard to keep a good grip on should your horse get antsy, and even harder to tie to a hitching post or ring.

Quality: This halter and lead get minimal use since I only put it on my horse for shows (to match her cooler), but it has stood up nicely so far. The halter proportions are also decent - the halter, when on my horse, sits properly. It's neither too long in the cheek, nor too loose on her nose.

Summary: A nice halter, I'm glad I won it. The lead rope doesn't get much use, as I prefer something easier to hold on to and tie, but I guess it'd be fine if you were just standing around with your (calm) horse, or if you needed a spare lead.
