Purchase: I'm working with a young horse who I thought would benefit from some sort of protective boot as she learns the ropes.
An employee from Victoria Feeds - The Horse & Hound in Lindsay, Ontario, Canada recommended the Professional's Choice Easy Fit Splint boots. They're designed for horses without previous leg injuries, and cost around $50.00 Cdn without taxes.
Likes: A good set of protective boots, right in line with Pro. Choice quality. They protect the horses legs from impacts caused by careless steps or knocks.
The velcro is extremely secure and the boots, even though they only come in 1 standard size, seem to fit a wide variety of horses legs. Even after the horses legs started to sweat, I didn't notice the boots slipping at all - they stayed in place.
Dislikes: They only come in 1 size. It's not a big deal for me since they fit the horse I need them to fit, but some people might prefer something more customized (Small, Medium and Large, for example).
Quality: Boots made with limestone-based neoprene that won't crack or crumble and holds its shape after repeated use. Two hook and loop fasteners.
Summary: A good set of boots. They do their job properly and clean up fairly easily. I've always liked Professional's Choice products, and this one didn't disappoint!
