Purchase: A friend recommended this brush as an addition to my grooming kit. It looked interesting so I thought I'd try it. I bought one from Victoria Feeds - The Horse & Hound in Lindsay, Ontario, Canada for around $14.00 Cdn.

Likes: The bristles are gentle on the horses mane and tail because of how they're designed. The rubberized handle is also easy to grip and hold on to. Oster is a great name so I expect the brush to last a long time and hold up well.

Dislikes: The price tag. I almost choked when I saw $15.00 come up on the bill for a simple brush. I also find the brush a little awkward to hold, but then again, I'm also used to more traditional mane and tail brushes.

Quality: Plastic construction with a rubberized area on the handle for excellent grip. Plastic bristles with little balls on the end of them to be kinder to the horses skin (if you're brushing a mane against the neck, for example).

Summary: A decent brush, but I don't think it's worth what I paid. I could get a very comparable brush at Wal-Mart for less than half of the price of the Oster brush. (Human hair brushes work great for horses manes and tails!)
