Purchase: This plastic sweat / water scraper came with my horse when I got her along with a few other grooming supplies.
Looking through local catalogues, I see it usually sells for around $2.00 Cdn.
Likes: Hmm... it's cheap?
Dislikes: The plastic is so thick on this sweat / water scraper that it doesn't bend or give at all. When you run it over the horses body, it doesn't conform to their shape - meaning it doesn't do a good job of removing water or sweat.
I also found it aggravated whatever horse I used it on because it was so hard. Wiping it down my arm, as I would along a horses side, I can feel why. It's darn uncomfortable!
Quality: A heavy duty plastic sweat / water scraper. Long and thin with a slight curve to it, it comes in a bunch of different colours.
Summary: Here's a tip for anyone needing a great sweat / water scraper for their horse: Go to your local hardware store and pick up a short (plastic handled) squeegee These are usually found in the cleaning supply section. They're around $4.00 or so and do an awesome job.
The rubber strip is flexible enough that it conforms to your horses body without creating pressure points, wicks water and sweat away easily... and look at the bright side: When you're done squeegeeing the horse, you'll be warmed up enough to do the windows!
