Purchase: I saw my first Jimmy's bridle on eBay. Having never heard of them, I started research. Seems Jimmy Wiebe, of Nevada, has become famous for his leather goods. He's been in business for years, and being from the old school, lets his quality speak for itself. Riders on both the East and West coast have known of these exceptional bridles for sometime. I bought that bridle on eBay, and my horse needed a larger size. The craftsmanship was so superb, I had to have one. I contacted Ann Hubbard's Tack, and after asking a million questions, I bought the Extra Full size. The bridle was $469.95 and the matching reins were $265.95.

Likes: The bridle oiled to a rich brown and will match almost any saddle color. The browband, noseband, and reins are raised and sewn with fancy stitching. The leather is very pliable and molds to horse's face. The nosebands come in different widths and all bridle pieces can be purchased separately. Bridle pieces are stamped, "Jimmy's 21st Century, Custom, and the craftsman's name."

Dislikes: The expense of the investment and the fact that the bridle won't clean itself.

Quality: Jimmy Wiebe, a former professional rider, says 3 things go into quality goods: proper raw materials, proper craftsmanship, and proper care by the consumer. The leather is of such high quality, it holds the oil and stays pliable. It is a nice thick cut of the finest leather I've seen. The lacing on the reins is tight and easy to grip. The leather keepers are tight and don't slip. All leather, hardware, thread, and stitching are top quality.

Summary: Expensive yes, quality always is. This bridle, with care, will be the last you ever purchase. It will stand years of use.
