Purchase: I bought it about 8 months ago. I was looking at Circle Y's and a friend told me about this company on Ebay that sold saddles directly as they made them so I called and talked to the sales person and gave 899.00 for it.
Likes: First I like that it was half price of the Circle Y. It is also super comfortable and fits all 8 of my horses. The company was very friendly and down to earth and put me at ease about the order. The saddle is lightweight but built to last a lifetime. The detail and workmanship is superb. True American craftsman ship at its finest.
Dislikes: No dislikes at all. Other than I wish I had 10 more to sell to everyone that asks me about mine.
Quality: The construction is the high point. I took the saddle to my local tack shop to show the owner, my cousin. We sat it side by side with the Circle Y flex saddle. Circle y uses two thinner cheaper pieces of leather sewn together all over the saddle and the GW Crate has a nice thick American tanned leather. Also the Circle Y saddle had cheaper neoprene rubber all under the fleece skirting and the Crate once again is total leather under thicker wool. I am amazed that they can sell this saddle for 899 when the competitions is 1700 and to me the higher priced saddle is cheaper and will wear out faster.
Summary: I am very glad I found this company and this saddle. I look forward to putting it on the horse and hitting the woods every day if I can. All my other saddles are gathering dust and I guess I will get rid of a few of them or most of them. If I need another I will order from Riders Choice again. The GW Crate custom line is the finest saddle made today in America for the price.
