Purchase: My horse has recurring corneal ulcers. His eyes must be protected because he rolls every day preferably in mud. I needed a fly mask that would have a removable eye cup that could be cleaned easily and would keep him from rubbing his eyes when he rolled. I paid about $90.00 for the Guardian Mask which I found on the internet at guardianmask.com.

Likes: The mask has worked beautifully. My horse is a 17h warmblood and he has not been able to damage or breach the cups on the Guardian mask protecting his eyes. Also, I wash it each night and it dries rapidly. The staff at the company is very helpful in fitting the mask to the horse.

Dislikes: The only short coming is that most people need to sew a dart or two at the pole of the mask to fit their horse tightly. Although this is not a problem if you have a sewing machine, it presents an issue if you don't.

Quality: The quality is good and the mask is rugged and versatile. You can choose to use an eye cup or not, cover one eye or both, use a UV protecting cup or not. The eye cups attach to the mask with velcro. The velcro is heavy duty.
