Purchase: I purchased this saddle brand new on eBay for $1300. This is an excellent price considering this saddle retails anywhere between $1800-$2000. Plus, I only had to pay $42 shipping, no tax.

Likes: I loved this saddle from the moment I saw it. It has a rich caramel color, not the traditional oakbark and not as light as some of the chestnut saddles. The first time I rode in the saddle I was on a rather hot TB and I felt secure the entire ride. The padded flaps and knee rolls helped me feel "locked in" the saddle but we not intrusive in any way. Also, the leather on the seat felt super grippy. I also like the mutiple flap lengths and degrees of forwardness this saddle comes in. I have an extremly long hip to knee and the forward flap fits my leg perfectly. I purchased the reg (or medium) tree which seems to fit most all horses relatively well. The regular tree seems a little wider than average which helps this saddle be a little more versatile for mutliple mounts. The leather on this saddle has darkened some but I am pleased with the changing colors.

Dislikes: The only negative about this saddle it the stirrup leather holder. Where most saddles have a small loop on the flap to insert the excess leather, the Centennial actually has the holder cut out of the flap where the excess is to go inside and under. I am finding that the more I break the saddle in the easier it is to insert the excess leather while adjusting my stirrups while mounted, but at first I found it rather difficult (especially on horses who didn't want to stay put!).

Quality: As this saddle is faily new, I am unable to make comments on the long-run durability of the leather and stitching. But, If this Crosby lasts half as long as my old Prix de Nation did, I will be a very happy consumer!

Summary: Overall this is an excellent saddle for an excellent price. I would say that it would be worth it to buy at full price...but if you can find a discount, go for it!
